One of my favourite workouts is Pilates on the Ball (PoB). It’s so unique – combining a bouncy ball with Pilates exercises – and oh so beneficial!
My first fitball class was with an amazing instructor and Physio, Lisa Westlake at a fitness conference. I loved it and felt the benefits of better posture and breathing almost immediately! I set about learning everything I could about exercising with a fitball – attending courses, buying every book and DVD I could lay my hands on.
Something similar happened with Pilates!
I was lucky enough to teach Fitball classes and Pilates courses across Perth (and sometimes on the Isle of Wight!), but really wanted to find a way to combine the two. So, I managed to persuade a gym to let me run an 8 week program and from the feedback I got, knew I was onto something!
One of the most amazing things about PoB is the immediate results. After one session of PoB, you feel taller and lighter. After a few sessions, your core and posture become stronger, you have more balance and control, you learn how to breathe correctly and so on.
